Fall came along last weekend and the temperature dropped so it was time to dig out the fire pit and invite a few people over. I had never done a party that featured cocktails so I thought I would jump on it. I think the fact that I was missing my bartending days, and that soon I'll be out of commission due to an upcoming surgery that will have me cooped up recovering for several weeks. It was a good time to get my friends together and have some fun. The favorite drink of the night? The Tender Knob. It includes bourbon, apple cider, cinnamon and brown sugar and is served hot! Cocktail recipes are below, plus a copy of the menu. Yes, we did the bacon bourbon for fun, it was strong and certainly did have a bacon flavor to it!! Feel free to make it yours!
I set up a shot station for the more adventurous. Tequila an fresh limes, and Limoncello with sliced lemons. I also put out a dish of salt and one with sugar for the Limoncello. The station was popular!
Friends around the fire! There was a lot of talk about the Kansas City Royals and the incredible job they are doing in the playoffs!
As usual, everyone congregated in my galley kitchen, small and cozy and crowded!
