Beer Tasting at the Microfest, Notable Craft Beer Favorites and Good Friends

This past weekend was filled with live music, handcrafted Ales from 50 plus breweries, and a good crowd of friends from our social group.  This is the second year attending for me, but many of my friends have been going for years! I had a couple of favorites, check those out below.  It was tough choosing favorites however, there was some serious competition between the 55 plus brewers there! Oh, I also got my picture taken with "The Dude" again! Feel free to comment below on what your favorite craft beer is and why!

Breweries representing Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Colorado, Oregon and California were there, as well as really good food and a great view of the river at English Landing Park.

Good music is always better with friends!!

It was pretty windy but the weather held out and we enjoyed a break on the riverfront.

And the favorite  for me was....

Firestone Walker Easy Jack IPA combined Bavarian Mandarina, Hallertau Melon, and New Zealand Mosaic hops. Sweet-like from the malted wheat and rolled oats, and it had a clean finish.  It was heavenly!

A very close runner up was Skeeter Pee Cherry Limeade by Missouri Mashers, local home-brewers.  Kudos to this small brewer who got it right.  Perfect Cherry Limeade flavor, and easy drinking one that would go great chilling by the pool.

With The Dude!!
